Hello I am Sharon Brooks-Clark
It is a great honour for me to take over from Wendy Johnson as captain of Barnham Broom ladies golf section.
I am a solicitor and I have lived in Norfolk, with my partner, Julia for the past 17 years. We moved to Norfolk, from Derbyshire, so that I could take up a senior management position with Norfolk county council.
Apart from golf I enjoy gardening, caravanning and walking, aided and abetted by our two dogs , Hattie and Martha , flatcoated retrievers, we call them scatty flatties
I started playing the odd game of golf when I was at work. I,and some work colleagues, played at a variety of clubs but it was Barnham Broom with its two magnificent and challenging course that made it an obvious choice when I opted for early retirement in 2012.
I am supported not just by my vice captain, Julie Banks, but all the other ladies that make up the ladies committee. I am truly fortunate that the ladies on the committee all have a huge knowledge of the many complexities of golf. In addition I have the added benefit of the support and advice of past lady captains and all the ladies that make up our ladies section.
I am looking forward to supporting the ladies section and the club and hopefully to more successes at all levels of golf competition.
In addition Matthew Gardner and the golf team, the hotel staff and the green keepers all, in my opinion, combine to make Barnham Broom a stand out golf club and one I feel truly honoured to be part of and to represent .
